This edition completes our series of all three clarinet concerts by Swedish composer and clarinetist Bernhard Henrik Crusell. This is his first printed work, published in Leipzig in 1811, but it was certainly composed several years earlier. With its elegant initial movement and the simple and poignant Adagio, it is perhaps the most 'Mozartian' of his three concerts, with the final Rondò recalling Carl Maria von Weber. An enchanting work straddling the classical and romantic periods, which the publisher and clarinetist Nicolai Pfeffer now presents on the basis of the first edition. The easy-to-perform piano reduction was recreated by Johannes Umbreit based on the original orchestral parts.
