Yet the reading heard at the Teatro Verdi also took into account another aspect: that of being one of Mozart's last compositions. Thus, K.622 becomes an introspective page, where virtuosity and singability are clothed with an awareness of a future of transcendence. This apparent patina does not turn off the lights, but turns on others of different intensity, Pfeffer, well supported by the conductor and orchestra with whom he recorded Mozart's work, has made this atmosphere at its best thanks to his technical and interpretive skills as well as his confidence with the page.
